Environmental Engineering
Environmental engineering is regulatory driven and thus may best be defined as ever-changing and ever-expanding. A single definition is very difficult to provide since environmental engineering encompasses an array of services including indoor air quality, wastewater treatment, process engineering, air emissions, soil and water quality, and solid waste management. Paradigm´s expertise in the wide arena of environmental engineering is in those problems that relate to evaluation of the limits of potential contamination of soil and water as well as to development of remediation programs for contaminated soil and water. The scope of study needed to properly assess the potential environmental risks at a given site is influenced by a multitude of factors including previous and current land use of the site and adjoining parcels. The scope of study can range from a preliminary site assessment, commonly called a Phase I ESA, to a Phase III study which evaluates remediation alternatives and outlines a preferred remediation approach. Paradigm initially interviews our Client and reviews previous documentation provided by our Client to determine the level of assessment that is needed.
